Introduction

ICMR-NIRT Madurai unit have been part of ICMR-NIRT-Chennai assisting as the hub and spokes model, carrying out not only clinical trials and studies of NIRT in unison with respective medical college but also help in research capacity building in associated Medical colleges. There has been a significant contribution from ICMR-NIRT Madurai unit since its inception from year 1983, in terms of scientific projects in TB, including some studies developed at Madurai unit conducted as multi-centric.
